Welcome to the site of ACE-B

I am full Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako and my research is focused malaria drug resistance and drug development. During my Fulbright program at Well Cornell Medical College in New York, I have been working on different aspects of malaria drug development, genomics, and proteomics.

            Currently, I am the Director of African Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics (ACE) established by the NIH/NIAID and University of Sciences Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB). The purpose of ACE is to address the need for advanced bioinformatics and Data science research expertise in Africa as well as to produce and enhance the careers of Master, doctoral and postdoctoral trainees in field of biomedical research, bioinformatics, and Data sciences.

I am supervising Master and PhD students on different topics related to in silico malaria drug and vaccine targets development and malaria drug development form plant extracts.

I am site PI of different NIH Fogarty Research training grants such us West African Center of Excellence for Global Health Bioinformatics Research Training (WACE), West African Sustainable Leadership and Innovation Training in Bioinformatics Research (WASLITBRe) and eLwazi Open Science Data Plateform.
